I'm baaaack!

Guess who's back, back again...Ivan's back...tell a friend...

Yup, that's right. I'm back, allbeit in a very limited fashion. For the next week or so I'll be using this crappy AOL dial up. I had everything set and ready to go before we left Tampa. My DSL connection was supposed to be ready within ten days of my arrival. Or so I thought. What BellSouth didn't tell me, even after we had called to confirm and check on the status of our order, was that they don't offer DSL service in my area. So I'm going with a local cabal company for my high speed connection. While I prefer the stability of a DSL connection, cable will do. Needless to say, I've also switched phone companies since we didn't find out about the DSL thing until well after it was supposed to be activated. As it turns out, the cable company we've enlisted to provide our cable and internet connection, also provides local and long distance phone service...so it works out nicely. Oh yeah, pi$$ on BellSouth.

So my blogging will be limited what with the dial up connection and all, and with the template work I've got to do (not looking forward to doing this with dial up...but....), but here's a little something I picked up yesterday...

It's a little old but I haven't seen it circulated much. So go to MoveAmericaForward and check out this commercial.

This is only a test

Had this been an actual post, it would have been followed up by some inane ramblings and quite a bit of pissing and moaning. This is only a test.

Coming out of hiding

I said I wasn't going to post for a while, but I had to post about this. Ronald Reagan, arguably the greatest president in modern history, at least since Teddy Roosevelt, died today at the age of 93. I could go over the list of accomplishments and great things this man has done, but it would take all day. And quite frankly if you don't know, you need to crawl out from under the rock you live in. Suffice it to say, he was a great man, and a great president. He lost his decade long battle with alzheimer's disease, probably the only fight he ever lost. God take you Mr. President...semper fi forever.

Update: John at RWN, has a copy of Mr. Reagan's farewell letter to the American people.

My Fellow Americans,

I have recently been told that I am one of the millions of Americans who will be afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Upon learning this news, Nancy and I had to decide whether as private citizens we would keep this a private matter or whether we would make this news known in a public way.

In the past Nancy suffered from breast cancer and I had my cancer surgeries. We found through our open disclosures we were able to raise public awareness. We were happy that as a result many more people underwent testing.

They were treated in early stages and able to return to normal, healthy lives.

So now, we feel it is important to share it with you. In opening our hearts, we hope this might promote greater awareness of this condition. Perhaps it will encourage a clearer understanding of the individuals and families who are affected by it.

At the moment I feel just fine. I intend to live the remainder of the years God gives me on this earth doing the things I have always done. I will continue to share life’s journey with my beloved Nancy and my family. I plan to enjoy the great outdoors and stay in touch with my friends and supporters.

Unfortunately, as Alzheimer’s Disease progresses, the family often bears a heavy burden. I only wish there was some way I could spare Nancy from this painful experience. When the time comes I am confident that with your help she will face it with faith and courage.

In closing let me thank you, the American people for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your President. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future.

I now begin the journey that will lead me into the sunset of my life. I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead.

Thank you, my friends. May God always bless you.

Ronald Reagan

Update#2: Those vile treasonous fucking-douchebags (pardon my profanity but I'm REALLY pissed) at the DU are already dancing on his grave. These vile bastards don't deserve the freedom others have fought and died to guarantee them.

Sorry folks...

No new posts probably for a while, about a week or so. We're packing this weekend and leaving on Monday. The DSL connection I use(d) has already been shut off (I cut it off early to make sure there was no outstanding balance thus not requiring a deposit with the new company), so I'm using a friends *gulp* dial up connection at the moment. Hehe, it took me over 5 mins just to go from his home page, to blogger home, to the posting page...OUCH!! Anyway, put the tinfoil hats back on for a while until I'm back to counteract their evil effects. And for God's sake DO NOT ANSWER THE BANANA PHONE!!! I'm planning on remodeling the kool-aid stand also so hopefully that'll be done as soon as I'm back to posting, along with The Story. Toodles!

While I'm gone, check out a few of my favorite sites/blogs...
