Convicted Al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole on Wednesday for his role in the Sept. 11 attacks.

Reading the jurors' verdict outside the Alexandria court house, Edward Adams, the court's public information officer, said the verdict only indicated that the jurors were "not unanimous in favor of a sentence of death."

The jurors had deliberated over Moussaoui's fate for seven days, having previously decided that Moussaoui's role in the worst terrorist attacks on U.S. soil made him eligible for the death penalty, despite not having played a direct role in the plot. Prosecutors had argued that had Moussaoui divulged to authorities what he knew of the plot, the attacks could have been prevented.

You know what the worst part is? In about 10-15 years some human rights group, such as the ACLU or International ANSWER is going to be working for this POS's release.
